Banned Books Week 2016 wrap-up

Hello ladies and gents! How was your week of reading Banned/challenged books? I’m sad to report I didn’t get the last book I wanted to read read this week, which was The Color Purple. 😞 It was the craziest week ever! Last Sunday night my dog got hurt on a part of our fence that is broke (that we didn’t know about) and gashed open three of her legs. After 3 trips to the vet and staples still popping out we switched to a new vet. He figured out what the problem was and got her all fixed up. Then we noticed her hips were popping. So we did X-rays and saw she has hip dysphasia. Ugh. 9 1/2 months old and is already going to have hip surgery. But it’s a genetic trait common in large breed dogs (she’s half bloodhound and half Great Pyrenees). So when she goes in on October 11 to get her stitches out they will do the first of 2 hip surgeries. My poor Luna.

So back to books….between that and school it’s been nuts. But it is what it is. Hope everyone had a good reading week!

My favorite Banned/challenged book I’ve ever read:

I was surprised to see how much I enjoyed this book. A lot more than I imaged. I actually want to read it again soon!

So the week before Banned Books week I started this book. I really thought I would finish it before BBW but sadly I didn’t. It’s a big book and I’ve only been able to read a little at a time because of school. But OMG 🙊 it’s intense and I’m so in love with this series so far. Even though Sarah J Maas keeps giving me major heart attacks 😳. I was hoping to finish it this weekend. I still have a bit over 300 pages. But my son has 2 soccer games this weekend and my husband will be at military training. Sooooo we will see if that happens 😂😂

    1. Thanks. I think we found a vet that will do an amazing job.

I’m going to read The Call by Peadar O’Guilin first and then I’ve been told to read The Assassin’s Blade before Queen of Shadows. So I’ll read that after The Call. I like to do a non series book in between series books. Helps break it up a bit.
