TBR Book Tag
My Parabatai and I started a new podcast last month and instead of episodes we are calling them Chapters. For Chapter 4 we decided to a book tag and also blog about it. So here goes!
How do you keep track of your TBR pile?
Hahaha when Sarah first sent me this book tag ‘like a monster’ just popped into my head. Why? I have no idea and there is no rhyme of reason for it either. Now I say ‘Like a boss!’ Honestly I have no particular way I do things. I do have a TBR shelf on my Goodreads. I typically only add books I own to that shelf. As to not get overwhelmed. I just kind of go with whatever I feel like at the moment.
Is your TBR mostly print or e-book?
Print…..yea so there’s that….
How do you determine which book from your TBR to read next?
All depends on my mood. I am a mood reader for sure. I do have a wheel I spin with various genres of books I own and then I’ll go to those books and see what interests me. Sometimes I ask Sarah or Cat what I should read.
A book that’s been on your TBR the longest?
According to my Goodreads TBR shelf that would be In the Heart of the Sea by Nathaniel Philbrick. It was added to my shelf on January 5, 2013. And I still own the book
A book you recently added to your TBR?
According to my Goodreads TBR shelf that would, Demon in the Wood by Leigh Bardugo. Added to my TBR shelf on November 23, 2022. Still need to buy that one. While looking through I noticed I had not added Vengeful by V.E. Schwab. So I added that on December 9, 2022. I do own that one.
A book on your TBR strictly because of its beautiful cover?
The first one to pop into my head is The Priory of the Orange by Samantha Shannon. All I know is that the cover is breathtaking and it has dragons in it. There is a prequel, again with a breathtaking cover, coming out February 2023 and I will buy it.
A book on your TBR that you never plan on reading?
Honestly, the ones that come to mind are Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte and Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte. I have had these books for 5+ years and who knows if I will ever read them. But we will see. But the covers are so pretty that I can’t part with them.
An unpublished book on your TBR that you’re excited for?
Upcoming books that V.E. Schwab said she is writing and/or close to publishing
The next books in the Cresent City and ACOTAR series by Sarah J Maas
Hell Bent by Leigh Bardugo (even though I haven’t read The Ninth House yet)
A book on your TBR that everyone has read but you?
A Court of Silver Flames by Sarah J Maas. I know I know. Hell it took me like 4 years to finally read Kingdom of Ash after it was published. I will get there
A book on your TBR that everyone recommends to you?
I really only ask two people about books. Sarah and Cat. And recently Sarah read King of Scars and Rule of Wolves by Leigh Bardugo and now she says I NEED to read them.
A book on your TBR that you’re dying to read?
The Hero of Ages by Brandon Sanderson. It is the last book in the original Mistborn Saga. And I am scared it will crush me. But I just need to DO IT!
How many books are on your Goodreads TBR shelf?
103 at the moment. But that will change. I need to go through my selves and add recent books I bought but need to still read.
