So this blog will be some books that will be released in 2018 that I am DYING to read! Lets get straight into that and then we will go over reading goals.
This is a new Stephen King novel set to be released in June 2018. I am so EXCITED for this book. It sounds like another crime thriller. I think he writes those so well. OMG OMG OMG. I am not a big fan of contemporary. It’s a big hit or miss for me but Becky Albertalli is an auto-buy now. I have read Simon vs the Homo Sapiens Agenda and The Upside of Unrequited and LOVED LOVED them! I am so excited for the Simon movie. So of course I would be so excited for this. OMG I am so excited for this! I adored My Lady Jane. It was such a fun read and an awesome twist on the true story of Lady Jane Grey. I had no clue there was going to be more books. How exciting. This new one will be a twist on the store of Jane Eyre by Charlotte Brontë. Which I own but still need to read. So I will be reading it before this book comes out. So lets talk about reading goals for 2018. I decided not to do the Goodreads Reading Challenge for 2018. I will still use Goodreads to keep track of books I have read but I am not setting a number. I want to see if the pressure to make it to that number is what put me into a major slump the last half of 2017. I just want to read and enjoy it and between reading goal numbers and people on Instagram I got caught up in the challenge of it all. That’s not what reading is supposed to be about. The book world of Instagram in changing and not for the better. Lately I have been noticing its all about how many followers you have, how many likes and comments you get and what people think of your pictures. While of course you want people to like your pictures but it should NOT be based on that. Take a damn picture and post it if you like it and screw everyone elses opinion. Also its called BOOK WORLD not lets see how much crap I can add to this picture. I on Instagram to share BOOKS and see books for new ideas on what to read. But lately its been hard to even see the book because its covered up by so much crap. Ugh ok I will stop bitching. But seriously STOP!
I do have some books I want to get to in 2018 for sure. I want to finish up the last book in the Daughter of Smoke and Bone trilogy by Laini Taylor and read her new book, Strange the Dreamer. I also need to finish End of Watch, the last book in the Bill Hodges trilogy by Stephen King. Other than that I usually mood read. I will be doing a buddy book club read once a month with my sister, Cat (Witchpluscat on IG). Mostly Historical, Historical Fiction and True Crime. It will be for our Discover and Conquer Blog we do together. I will post my book reviews on this blog and the other blog. I do want to read a couple more Stephen King books. I have to go at a snail’s pace with his books. I can’t just read one right after another. His books are so intense so I have to space them out. But I would love to reread the Castle Rock books. I first read them 10+ years ago. They are some of my favorite books of his. Needful Things being my number one favorite. I am so excited the new Castle Rock series on Hulu! It’s going to be so fantastic! I already know it. It’s hopefully going to be released in 2018 sometime!
