Oh holy shit! 🤭 Dude! JOE!!! I really need to pick apart his brain. The man is amazing! I just finished 692 pages of pure awesomeness! Gah! I can’t believe it took me so long to read this. I’ve previously read Horns and loved it! I can honestly say now Joe is in my top 5 favorite male authors! He maybe even be ahead of his dad now, Stephen King 🤦🏻♀️😮. So anyway on with the review…..
Charles Talent Manx! Oh man what a villain. He‘s creepy and evil, yet at the same time you almost want to hug him. But not very often. The whole concept of Charles is just amazing. Wonderful character. I would have loved to have learned more about Charles. More about his background and how he grew up. Maybe a short story is needed 😉😉
Vic McQueen! I thought at first she might get annoying since a lot of the story centers around her. But she didn’t. I really enjoyed her character. She wasn’t too over the top. She was well developed. Her pain felt real and her actions seemed realistic for what she went through.
Lou! Oh Lou! That man is like a giant teddy bear that I want to cuddle with. With everything that happened he remained amazing. I loved how his story ended and I felt like it was a good way for his life to go.
Wayne! Bruce Wayne! I love that kid!
With the way Joe wrote I actually felt like I could picture this world in my head. In fact I even dreamed I was in the book as a main character. But I was still myself. Very good job with describing the world.
The ending! I did like the ending he gave. I had visions of 2 other ways it could have ended and would have made for an awesome book as well!
Overall amazing book!!!!! 5/5 ⭐️
