Our Dark Duet (Monsters of Verity #2) review

“THE WORLD IS BREAKING. AND SO ARE THEY.

KATE HARKER isn’t afraid of monsters. She hunts them. And she’s good at it.

AUGUST FLYNN once yearned to be human. He has a part to play. And he will play it, no matter the cost.

THE WAR HAS BEGUN.

THE MONSTERS ARE WINNING.

Kate will have to return to Verity. August will have to let her back in. And a new monster is waiting—one that feeds on chaos and brings out its victims’ inner demons.

Which will be harder to conquer: the monsters they face, or the monsters within?”

Oh goodness!! Where do I even begin. This book was just as breathtaking as This Savage Song (This Savage Song review

Let’s talk villain, Victoria sure knows how to write them. I’m completely in love with Sloan! He was so amazing as a villain. Also Alice, with her fuck it attitude. She made me laugh a few times, even when she was killing.

August – oh my baby August. He is my number one book boyfriend. I just adore everything about him. And I don’t even care that he is a monster.

Kate – such a badass! Sometimes I got a tiny bit annoyed when she would shut down and go off on her own but I did understand her reasoning. So it wasn’t a huge annoyance.

I still love that there is NO love story. Yes I do enjoy love stories but sometimes I just want a book with friendship and action. And you got that here. My only complaint is I wish we had more on the Chaos Eater. I feel like we didn’t get enough background oh where it came from. Unless I totally missed something because I was swooning over my August.

If you love action, monsters, and many emotions I highly recommend picking up this duology!

5/5 🌟
