Within These Walls by Ania Ahlborn review

“From indie horror author and bestselling sensation Ania Ahlborn, this brand-new supernatural thriller questions: how far would you go for success, and what would you be capable of if the promise of forever was real?

With his marriage on the rocks and his life in shambles, washed up crime writer Lucas Graham is desperate for a comeback. So when he’s promised exclusive access to notorious cult leader and death row inmate Jeffrey Halcomb, the opportunity is too good to pass up. Lucas leaves New York for the scene of the crime—a split-level farmhouse on the gray-sanded beach of Washington State—a house whose foundation is steeped in the blood of Halcomb’s diviners; runaways who, thirty years prior, were drawn to his message of family, unity, and unconditional love. Lucas wants to tell the real story of Halcomb’s faithful departed, but when Halcomb goes back on his promise of granting Lucas exclusive information on the case, he’s left to put the story together on his own. Except he is not alone. For Jeffrey Halcomb promised his devout eternal life…and within these walls, they’re far from dead.”

Oh my she did it again! This book was skin crawling creepy. A combination of horror, paranormal, and true crime. I adored this book from front to cover. My only complaint is that in the synopsis it says “death row inmate…” but he wasn’t. In fact in the book a guard says he isn’t ok death row 🤷🏻‍♀️ So yea, other than that no complaints.

Jeffrey Halcomb, aka Charles Manson, is creepy, crazy, and just down right out of his mind! He reminded me so much of Charles Manson. Which I loved. Ania references Charles Manson in the book. 👌🏻

Lucas Graham, aka Ellison Oswald from the horror movie Sinister, is amazingly f*cked up in this book. It worked so well. Lucas goes to stay in the house that the crime was committed in, just like in the movie Sinister. A movie I loved!

Oh my and that ending! Yes Yes Yes! I was forsure hoping she would do it just like that. Going totally opposite of the “everything is perfect at the end”. I don’t want to say much so I don’t spoil it but if you have read it we can spoiler talk in the comments!!!

So if you like horror, crazy, creepy, then go read Ania Ahlborn! I call her the female Stephen King 😈

4/5 🌟
