Percy Jackson and the Olympians by Rick Riordan series review

So I’m sure almost everyone has heard of Percy Jackson, even if you haven’t read the books. But if not it’s basically Greek Mythology in present day! Gods, Goddess, Demigods, monsters….you name it! If you want more than just Google or Goodreads 😂😂

So I started my journey on March 6, 2017! Yes I am VERY late to the party. But what’s new 😆. I was HOOKED! The chapter titles alone are freaking amazing! Goodreads does list this under YA but in my personal opinion I find it more middle grade. But that is not a problem. I love middle grade. I love reading middle grade because 99% of the time it’s ACTION! No instalove, no love triangles. If there is any love (which in this series there is like a tiny tiny tiny amount and its kind of hard to see 👀) it’s very little and does not take over the story. So it’s very refreshing to just have an action packed story. After I finished book I, I started book II right away. I couldn’t wait. I was sucked in. I did take a break and read Night Film by Marisha Pessl next (which was very very interesting) but immediately dove into book III. There was no more wasting. I decided to just binge the rest of the books. Which I did and ended my journey March 23, 2017! Yes I read the entire series in less than a month. They were FANTASTIC! I’ve always been interested in Greek Mythology, so even though these were middle grade books I still learned a lot. I can’t wait to read the other series Rick Riordan wrote and get me some more Percy! And Grover. Grover was by far my favorite character in the entire series! He was so goofy and charming and silly. The ending of the series was perfect too. I was afraid it would go a predictable, eye rolling way but it didn’t. It was a perfect ending to a perfect series!

  • The Lightning Thief – 5/5 🌟
  • The Sea of Monsters – 5/5 🌟
  • The Titans Curse – 5/5 🌟
  • The Battle of the Labyrinth – 5/5 🌟
  • The Last Olympian – 5/5 🌟

Over all this series gets a 5/5 🌟!
