Queen of Shadows (TOG #4) by Sarah J Maas review

Everyone Celaena Sardothien loves has been taken from her. But she’s at last returned to the empire – for vengeance, to rescue her kingdom, and to confront the shadows of her past…

She has embraced her identity as Aelin Galathynius, Queen of Terrasen. But before she can reclaim her throne, she must fight.

She will fight for her cousin, a warrior prepared to die for her. She will fight for her friend, a young man trapped in an unspeakable prison. And she will fight for her people, enslaved to a brutal king and awaiting their lost queen’s triumphant return.”

Wow! 😱 What a crazy ride this was. Crown of Midnight was my favorite but this one surpassed that and has become my favorite of the series so far. Following are the emotions I had while reading this: 😢😭😱😳😒😔😣😍😱😔🙄😕☺️😓😥😆😁😘😨😒😂😭😱😓😘😉😔😢❤️😳😱😍😒😢😣😆😘😓😕🙄😉😔😢😣😍😱😳❤️❤️😳😳😳❤️😍😍😍😁😁

This was so full of action. Only parts that drove me nuts were the constant bickering between Chaol and Aelin (Celaena) in the first half of the book 🙄 I rolled my eyes so much and so hard I thought they would get stuck. Chaol was such an asshole for a while. Frankly he had no right to be so pissy. But he finally pulled that stick out of his ass and all was good. I won’t spoil things but I will say things were not how I wanted them to be when reading Crown of Midnight/Heir of Fire. People were not with who I thought they should be/wanted them to be with but by the time this book was over I was completely ok with who was ending up with who. It totally works!

Man I had a LONG list of assholes I wanted dead in the last 200 pages. Some died. Some haven’t but I have a feeling they will meet their untimely death in the next book *instertevillaugh* 😈

At first I hated the Witches but after a while I totally started falling in love with the Thirteen. Villains they may be but man I want to fly with them!

Well not sure what else to say. I don’t want to spoil for anyone who hasn’t read it yet. I will say GO READ this series if you haven’t yet. It’s so fun!

5/5 🌟

Now I’m starting Duma Key by Stephen King….
