Hidden Bodies (You #2) by Caroline Kepnes (contains spoilers and swear words ðŸ˜‚)

“Joe Goldberg is no stranger to hiding bodies. In the past ten years, this thirty-something has buried four of them, collateral damage in his quest for love. Now he’s heading west to Los Angeles, the city of second chances, determined to put his past behind him.

In Hollywood, Joe blends in effortlessly with the other young upstarts. He eats guac, works in a bookstore, and flirts with a journalist neighbor. But while others seem fixated on their own reflections, Joe can’t stop looking over his shoulder. The problem with hidden bodies is that they don’t always stay that way. They re-emerge, like dark thoughts, multiplying and threatening to destroy what Joe wants most: true love. And when he finds it in a darkened room in Soho House, he’s more desperate than ever to keep his secrets buried. He doesn’t want to hurt his new girlfriend—he wants to be with her forever. But if she ever finds out what he’s done, he may not have a choice…”

O-M-G! Where do I even begin….I LOVED  the first book in this series, You, so I was excited for more of the creepy Joe Goldberg. But man oh man was this a fucking let down.  ðŸ˜’

Ok first off…Joe moves to Cali to hunt down Amy who steals the books from the cage. I’m like cool, ok! Now we getting somewhere! But we still got nowhere…but to Cali! He spends a month trying to find her…doesn’t…then he kills someone…was not dramatic at all. Goes to where he thinks Amy will be and ends up fucking some rich white chicken, who by the way fills a bathtub up with $24,000  worth of champagne 😳 yes I know! So anyway he fucks her for days on end until Calvin, omg don’t even get me started on that dude, texts him about Amy! So anyway fast forward and I wake up from a deep sleep to still NOTHING happening. No stalking, no creepy. No Joe. At least in the first book he was awkward with the ladies. He had to chase Beck. In this one he just bats his eyes and all the ladies are on him like fleas on a dog. He gets elbow deep in with rich famous people. There is name dropping everywhere, which seems so damn fake. I mean come on Love (yes that’s Joes new fuck friends name) and her twin brother,Forty’s (seriously 🙄)  parents own grocery store! But yet they hobnob with the rich and famous and apparently are zillionaires. So anyway Joe gets tired of Forty and tries to kill him but doesn’t work. Then all of a sudden all the shit from the first book comes flooding back and he has to try and cover up the killing of Peach. Which he ends up confessing everything to Love. All the killings and staking and what not. And what do you think happens? Nope not that….she FORGIVES him! Oh oh oh and she’s pregnant! So her brother, Forty, ends up dying cause he was hit by a car crossing the road. He ends up FINALLY finding Amy or Amy finds him. Something like that. They talk and he lets her go! GO! He went there to kill her! Oh Joe, what happened to you?? Then all of a sudden cops had a Taco Bell surrounded and arrest Joe. They grill him and Love about the killings back east. Cause apparently they pieced all together (which really they have nothing) and it ends with him behind bars…..😤😡😧 what? Ok so what now? She really should have stopped with You

I swear this whole book was about getting famous, having sex (and it wasn’t the good shit like in You). It was honestly like some 13 year old boy who watched his first porno wrote this, slapped Carolines name on it and said “there, here’s a good book” 🙄

1/5 🌟
